TweetDeck v0.15b released

Version 015 of the beta has been released and contains a number of improvements over 0.14 and a couple of new features. The first new feature is the Profile panel (as mentioned previously). Simply click on a users photo, name or @username and the profile panel will appear with all the details TweetDeck has on that person. Tweets coming in from Twitter contain full user information (as you would expect) which is displayed underneath the main photo, tweets coming in from Summize do not contain much user info but I've added a link underneath the photo anyway to get to that info. All tweets TweetDeck has from that user are displayed in a list underneath.

I've purposely made the image size large, and I know it makes those profile pictures which are small rather blocky but at least you can see more detail and its quite fun to click around looking at everyone's large profile picture (especially those that are wider than 290px !).

The other new feature is Global Search columns. Users can search in the usual way (Local - as in just your friends, held on the local SQLite database) and now using Summize (Global - everyone). Global Search columns get updated every minute with a maximum of 100 tweets (Summize API has no rate limit right now) and I've found it a killer way of TRACKing fast moving topics (I've tried movie titles, band names, "tweetdeck" and swear words - all interesting results). Searches are limited to one word right now but this will change as more testing on the Summize search format is complete and I'd like to reduce the update rate to around 10 seconds for an even better result - may have to talk to Summize about that.

Tell me what you think.

Iain, TweetDeck is fantastic. I've been looking for a way to create filters streams and was considering building it myself. Glad I found TweetDeck instead. Now a couple of suggestions:
1. Perhaps its due to the local database nature of the product, but I would really like to be able to see the list of all of the people I follow when creating groups. I don't want to wait for them to tweet before I can add them.

2. I accidentally closed a column of a group I had just created. I don't see any way to bring it back without recreating it. Would be nice to differentiate between removing from the display and really deleting the group.

3. Would be nice to be able to include a way to see the tweets that other people are replying to. If you are familiar with Hahlo, there is a button that says "In reply to" under replies. Clicking it displays the original message right under the reply.

Thanks!!!

I just tried TweetDeck and it roxors. Thanks for using us as your product blog, we're honored.

Is there a way to see my own tweets, just so I get some feedback/confirmation about it getting posted?

TweetDeck looks promising but Twitter is always down.

It's really nice application. Especially the grouping thing is great. By the way TweetDeck works also perfectly in Ubuntu (so you could add that to the compatibility list).

Iain~ Love what I see so far. But I maximized the app and can't get it to shrink down again. I tried 'restore' from the tray, but it re-appears maximized. It's just too cumbersome filling the entire screen. Can you help?

Nice software...

The main TweetDeck site says : Windows and MacOS only... but it's working fine with Linux too, as far as you install it manually...

I think you can add "Linux (Manual Install)" in supported Systems, but you have to give the direct link to the AIR file : http://www.tweetdeck.com/beta/TweetDeck_0_15.air

Just looking around on TweetDeck. First impressions are very good! I like the side-by-side format and think the search using Summize sounds great.

Way to go! Thanks for working on making our Twitter experience even better!

Kudos!

Hi Nikki, whether maximized or not you can resize the window by dragging the bottom right corner. This will be fixed in the next point release - promise!
